Cat, Canary + the Grins is the latest project from Clay Christopher Harris. I can think of no one who better fits the term "outsider musician" than Clay. Clay collaborated with Keif from Waltz Bop Shop in Gehenna Noi$e Choir in the 1980's and has stayed true to that form since. This is a soundcloud sampler.
The Sextants are perhaps the most successful group to emerge out of the music scene that flourished in Las Cruces, New Mexico in the mid 1980's. Like a.o.s. and The Young Pros, The Sextants emerged out of a scene full of talented folks both younger and older that shared members and ideas in groups that sometimes only lived long enough to explore an idea or to play a single show. Bugs Romeo/Salcido was a troubled troubadour that was a mentor for many of the younger members of that scene. I played with him and Elaine Walker in a project with Grant Garner who would later play in Choke. Bugs was charming and charismatic and went on to make music that made a lot of people happy. The Sextants reformed to record this song in tribute.
From the bandcamp link: "Bugs Salcido was a friend, supporter and influence on all of us in The Sextants. He passed away on September 10th, 2014. This song that he wrote is our tribute to him. You may download it for free or pay whatever you choose. Any money collected will be passed on to his family. " Enjoy. Bugs would want you to.

admixture, a two-track, interactive e.p. from aboombong. Back in 2012 I sent solicitations for additional elements for each track to my musician friends: not remixs, admixs. The additional elements here trickled in over the last two years. Additions are still welcome for both tracks. Send 'em if you've got 'em.
My brother seems to have put up some videos...this is from the first psychic enemies network album. I always felt like these tracks were soundtrack music for movies no one had made yet. Matt seems to have made one that works nicely.
A mix featuring Hyaena Fierling, a:urban, Oystein Jorgensen, Ihana, The Grief, Lambchop, Patscan, Giles Giles & Fripp, Isnaj Dui, Jorge Reyes & Suso Saiz, Krause/Goyette, Their Teeth To Points, aboombong, Henry Cow, Laurie Anderson, Lalezar Ensemble, Luqus & R.I.T, Ohm:, The Ordinaires, Her Space Holiday and Bernadette Erikka. Nice to be included with such stellar acts.
I can honestly say my favorite musical experience ever was seeing Gehenna Noi$e Choir play in my living room back in the mid 1980's (see above). No better outsider music was ever made. Clay was one of the guitarists and the creative mass attractor. He's got a couple new things posted on soundcloud. Still raw and cool to my ear.
